The hypocrisy of Religious Tolerance !

                                                             I have always been sensitive to the efforts of others when it comes to speaking about tolerance . But the word tolerance conjures up all sorts of views and attitudes . To me tolerance means an acceptance of other peoples religions , an acceptance of other peoples traditions , ethnic origins and beliefs . I have always been of the opinion that if some creed , some tradition , some human condition ,be they different from mine , and I can incorporate them as being useful in my daily life , well then I find them acceptable . And even at a later stage if I decide that I no longer find something tolerable then I discard it .
                                                            The same can be said of peoples sexual orientation , if its the way people are then just accept it for what it is . You see there are a lot of people out there who think that ones sexuality is a choice . Not true . Ones sexuality is a given at birth . You may try to hide it for as long as is necessary , but at the end of the day you are who you are . You can try and do what the churches promote , and that is to pray your way to being straight . But as we all know , they really don't know what they are talking about when it comes to a persons sexuality . What I find intolerable is the hypocrisy within religion , and their misuse of their positions as defenders of the faith .
                                                            To some the word tolerance just means to endure , to accept but always to question any of the subjects spoken of previously . Never to believe in the freedom and rights of others to be who they really are . You are told you must conform , you must abide by these sacred rules , put together by man I need add and not some divine celestial being . Everything is done in the interests of the faith and never the individual . When organisations restrict you in any way , be it emotionally or spiritually , there is a very dangerous agenda afoot .They are basically trying to sell you their idea of how to reach that place they call the promised land .And remember that an idea is all it is . Its a human

idea , not a gods idea , plain and simple its a group of people trying to get you to join their club . And the bigger the club , the more influence and money it produces .
                                                           I have always thought to myself , that when money and power become entwined , as is the case in all religions , you don't have to look far to make an even comparison with big business . And when a religion has its own bank , well that kinda puts the icing on the cake don't you think ? So when your bishop , or your imam , or your rabbi , tells you to be accepting of others , of course with all of its limitations and guidelines , please ask him just one thing . Ask him how he sleeps at night knowing that many millions of his congregation are starving , when having the wherewithal to prevent it , they choose not to .
