Principles or Money ?

                                                        Whats it like for you on the run up to Christmas ? Where does your attention center the most ? Why is it so important to even Celebrate Christmas any more , seeing as its nothing more than a presenting gifts holiday .  Doesn't really matter whether you're Catholic, Protestant , whatever Ism you choose to follow , its not about the season of good will anymore , its simply about The Season of Large Presents .
                                                       Now don't get me wrong , I love Christmas , in our home it was always custom to watch Jimmy Stewart in " Its A Wonderful Life  " on Christmas Eve . I always thought that the message in that movie was perfect for Christmas .
                                                       It centred around a man who feels that his life has been pointless , and that his contribution to his failed existence ......................well all I will say it that he thinks he deserves to be miserable . When along comes an elderly spirit who shows him how full his life actually is and how he should proceed as a result . The point being , though things in the present may be a little stressful and unfulfilling ,and it can be so difficult to look at any positives , if you examine your life you will find that there is cause for some optimism . Now I am not trying to be philosophical , far from it , but I just think the spirit of Christmas should be returned to its proper place . It should be a time for reflection , a time for any love that might be in your life . But above all else , and forgetting the religious significance , Christmas should be about anything other than money . I would love to test a theory , that every family should have an allowance of say 50 euro per child , and maybe 200 euro for food drink etc . Now thats all you would have to spend to celebrate Christmas , no ifs or buts , thats what your allowance would be !
                                                       Its unfortunate that my testing theory will never see the light of day , but you get my drift ? Its so easy to have principles in your life , if you have plenty of money .  The family who have nothing , .......................well lets just say they will do ANYTHING , repeat ANYTHING to survive !
No need to examine or analyze me , I am Well Beyond That !

                                                                    In the huge scheme of things we live our lives in a way that has been somehow mapped out for us .  We wake every day and do the things that are expected to be done by others , but mostly by ourselves . Most of the time we are pleased by our efforts , and sometimes we just let ourselves down . And that's okay too , because we're not as perfect as we would like to be , or as others might expect us to be .
