Self Obsessed !
When is it right to be totally honest with people ? I am not asking in relation to everybody , because we all know who we can be totally honest with don't we ? No I am talking about people on the fringe of your friendship , acquaintances maybe ?
You will know the type of person I am talking about with maybe a little description . They are very loud , they are forever pessimistic unless it involves their opinion . Their opinion is always the one to be respected and listened to , as all other opinions are not real , not accurate , and anyway not worth talking about . Sound familiar to anybody ?
These people always call attention to themselves in very subtle ways , and all of the time its so very obvious to every one else what they are up to . They tend to be very argumentative if their opinions are in any way questioned , and do silly things if offended .They can be openly cynical and sarcastic towards other peoples words or opinions , and do it in a less than mature way .
When these sort of individuals are either in my company or I happen to come upon them by chance , I give them such a wide berth , that its the only choice available . You see these individuals are so self obsessed , its gonna take more than an opinion to shift them from their perch . Sometimes you're better off ignoring them , but at times thats just not possible and you have to take a stance and say your piece . Sitting on the proverbial fence is not an option , and most certainly for me it could never be .
So if you haven't encountered such people yet , and I would be surprised if you didn't , at least now you have a clearer picture who they might be . Its like a photo fit , obviously without the photo , but all the characteristics are there , you will identify these people easily . How I hear you ask ? Well , you won't be able to get a word in edgeways ! A Stevie Wonder song comes to mind , Mr Knowitall !
