How I would Like to Remember Him ! |
Its with great sadness that I am writing this piece . The news of the untimely death of Prince has kinda knocked us all off center a little . As we all know he was that flamboyant entertainer who just couldn't wear his clothes tight enough . He preached everything from enjoying being blown away by a Little Red Corvette , to rocking smoothly in the midst of some Peculiar but apt Purple Rain . He was five years younger than me when he died , and that's why I use the term untimely , when I think of how the Little Man lived .
He was a revolutionary both in his music and in his attitude toward being Owned by a recording label . We have all grown to understand why he fought for his craft and his position . I loved him . He was different , he was electric , he was hypnotic , but most of all he was serious about his music .

And How He Privately Felt ! |
My son Christian had the privilege of dj/ing after him when he gave an impromptu set in Spirit Nightclub in Abbey Street Dublin some fifteen years ago . Something he still talks about , and cherishes even after such a long time .
Prince will be missed , no doubt about that . But as the song goes , Shine on you Crazy Diamond . Never has a title to a song been more apt than in the description of Prince and how he will be remembered .
