Karma Came Round Today , and Smiled a Broad Smile on Diamond !

                                                                      Today was some day ! I kinda knew that at ten o clock this morning when my front door bell was ringing off its hinges . I was in the land of sweet puppies and bunnies , and I was not at all impressed by idea of someone disturbing my peaceful slumber . I rose with the enthusiasm of a snail . I looked out the window and saw my son standing there , phone in hand and looking not at all happy . He later informed me that Diamond had her first puppy and the poor thing didn't survive . This sounded and felt like a bad day lay ahead .
                                                                     He contacted the vet in Kildare at Grey Abbey , and they told him to get Diamond in to them as soon as possible . We put the mother to be in the back of the car , distressed , panting , and looking so miserable . We hoped there would be some good karma around in the shape of surviving puppies .
                                                                    We got to the vets as soon as we could , she was examined , and the vet explained after doing ultrasound to assess how well the puppies were doing , that the remaining puppies were in distress and he couldn't guarantee a happy outcome . We asked him to do as much as he could possibly do , he promised he would .
THE PUPPIES !
                                                                    We left minus Diamond , and it felt like an abandonment , but in truth that was all we could do . She was now in the hands of experts , and if heaven was the place was for her puppies to go , well then we would just have to accept that decision . We hoped and prayed to whatever God or Entity that was responsible for these things , that he would spare these puppies , and give them a chance . That's all we could do .
                                                                   We returned home , and was told to expect a phone call that would give us the good or the bad news . After having something to eat , in a not too pleasant mood or atmosphere , we received the phone call we were all dreading . Jeff took the call , we all looked at his face for any giveaway signs , but nothing . After what seemed like an eternity , he hung up , and told us the news .
                                                                   Diamond had just given birth to FIVE boys and ONE girl , Diamond was now sedated and in recovery . The puppies were weak , but were responding in a positive way . There was a lot of relief in that room I can tell you . Mother and her babies were alive and doing fine .
                                                                  At 6.30 this evening we collected the family from the vets . Told him how wonderful he was , and believe me HE WAS . They are all in the comfort of Jeff and Jorge's home , convalescing . Diamond has accepted her puppies as the good mother she is . Karma came round today , and smiled a broad smile on Diamond . Sure what more could you ask for ?
No need to examine or analyze me , I am Well Beyond That !

                                                                    In the huge scheme of things we live our lives in a way that has been somehow mapped out for us .  We wake every day and do the things that are expected to be done by others , but mostly by ourselves .
