Happy Valentine's Day , Whoever You Were !

                                                                      Today is the feast of a saint who is venerated in a very small way by the catholic church . His name was Valentine , and he was executed on the 14th February for failing to deny Christ by Emperor Claudius the 2nd . He is remembered for miraculously restoring the sight of a judges daughter , when challenged about his true vocation . So little was known of him that he was removed from The General Roman Calendar . Notwithstanding this , the Greek orthodox Church doesn't even recognize the existence of a Saint Valentine . A certain Pope Gelasius 1st decreed , that Valentine's name should be added to a group of Saints whose history and deeds were known only to God himself  .
                                                                      Now after that little history lesson , Today is Valentine's day , and if you forget about it , you are in deep shit . It really doesn't matter whether he is accepted , venerated , or didn't exist and was created by some loving couple who were mad out of it on ecstacy . If you don't do what's generally required of you tomorrow ,


there will be hell to pay . Sickness will not be an excuse for forgetting . Loss of memory just won't do it . Unless you are in a coffin and you won't really mind anyway , you better get your shit together .
                                                                      So to all of you love birds out there , have a wonderful St Valentine's day . Let there be love and understanding overflowing wherever you might be .
                                                                      I would just like to take this opportunity to wish my wife Catherine a very happy Valentine's day . She bought both of our cards this year . She just wanted to repay me for me buying them last year  , and so on this occasion the rules are being bent a little . Her sight has improved so much in the last twelve months  that when she wakes up in the mornings  , she continually looks at me and says , " Who the F... is this young man lying beside her " ? I know what you think . There is what is known as improvement , and then there are lies !
No need to examine or analyze me , I am Well Beyond That !

                                                                    In the huge scheme of things we live our lives in a way that has been somehow mapped out for us .  We wake every day and do the things that are expected to be done by others , but mostly by ourselves . Most of the time we are pleased by our efforts , and sometimes we just let ourselves down .
