Life can be Brutal !
When someone who is old and has had a very fulfilling life , when they are coming to the end of their time here on earth , it can be so upsetting and always leaves you with a sense of helplessness . Helplessness in such a way that no matter how much you worry , or how much you cry , you just know the inevitable is going to happen . I don't say this in a cold way , I am saying this with understanding in mind . But there are certain things about the ensuing loss of someone you hold dear that can be really confusing .
From the time you were a child that someone was always there for you , they always had your back in more ways than one . The things they defend you for and the commotion you stirred up in your childhood would always be written off with love and maybe a little preaching to . That's not to say you were spoiled in any way , in fact it was probably the exact opposite as your mother made you as important as your brothers and sisters . You see that was her job , and trying not to have favourites was always going to be difficult .
That woman you have known all your life , through thick and thin , through the highs and the lows , is suddenly absent when you look into her eyes now . The years have ravaged her body and her mind , to such an extent she is hardly recognizable . That's the worst part of growing old , watching someone wasting away . It would be far preferable if that special someone was taken away in their sleep with no pain or loss of image inflicted . But no , life isn't that sparing of your ego or your preferences , life can be brutal .
So if there is someone out there , who is in this particular type of predicament , and you really don't know what to do , take comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone . Be as forgiving to yourself as you would be to them . You can pray to whatever entity or symbol you choose , and with some luck their passing and the way you manage to handle it will live with you forever . It will leave a shelf empty in your heart , but remember always , their memory and their energy will shine in you forever !
