Kinda Makes Me Sad !

                                                                      There were many attempts to be the first person to fly in the early years of the Twentieth Century . But finally on October the 5th 1905 Wilbur Wright piloted The Flyer the third for 39 minutes and flew 24 miles of circles around Huffman Prairie . He basically flew the first practical airplane until it ran out of petrol . Think about it . And while doing that , just realize that that first venture into manned flight was only , only 111 years ago . I was born in 1953 , and while I have never considered it until now actually , that 48 years previous to my birth , this giant leap was taken , from which we would never ever look back .
                                                                    Just look at what has been achieved since then and you will only in a small way come to grips with what miracles have been created . What only was promised in some science fiction story , has come to pass , and has made science fiction actually Science Fact . In a little over one hundred years we have made outstanding improvements to our way of life . We have sent men and women into outer space , just to see what's out there . And when we realized we could use that space for our own benefit , we filled it full of satellites capable of sending signals anywhere you wanted them to . Phone signals , television signals , and eventually The Star Wars kind of signals used in a military aspect .
                                                                   What once was a beautiful free space owned solely by the universe itself , has now become a junk yard of obsolete satellites , that would cost more to retrieve than it costs simply to leave them there .And don't think for one minute that it ends there .
                                                                   The other space which happens to cover almost three quarters of our planet , the oceans , have been polluted by the most dangerous species known to this planet and to be honest maybe in the entire universe MAN . We were always good at creation , just look around and see what we have built and how beautiful our minds can work when left to their own devices .But we have found this new thing that has gone on to be even more powerful than our power of creation , and that is quite simply put our endless capability to destroy anything that is good on this planet . And all in a little over one hundred years .
                                                                  In the previous thousands of years , we were quite happy  just to plunder each others countries purely for the sake of it..Destroying the rest of the planet was never within our capabilities , and even though slaughter was the order of the day , good old mother earth and sky were never in any real danger . And then in 1905 those fu..... Wright Brother's sent that first airplane around Huffman Prairie . All in a little over one hundred years . Kinda wants me to take stock . Kinda makes me wanna f... it all up . Kinda makes me a little less proud of my fellow man , don't you think ? Kinda Makes Me Sad !
