Avoiding an IMPASSE !

                                                                       Its hardly surprising that when you have just about settled with a particular level of calm in the Universe , something happens to add to the decay . I know that maybe I am being a little naive when I say things like this , but for once just once you think to yourself that you are pretty happy with the way things are .
                                                                      When these type of events happen , its very easy to lull yourself into a little false sense of security . I mean no one wants to hear bad news . No one wants to be faced with change in their all too perfect little bubbles do they ? It's so much easier to just stand still than to either go backwards , or forwards . You see standing still is safe . Standing still is easy . And of course standing still means you never have to deal with new found difficulties .
                                                                     I have always come from a situation of unity with my wife . It's a real no brainer , it suits us both . Okay like everyone we all have our ups and downs , but you try your best to not make them what ultimately in the end defines us all . We have gone past the stage of trying , or even wanting to change each other . Sure what's the point ? To change for someone else's benefit could be construed as to be an admission that something needed changing in the first place .
                                                                    Now in circumstances where its outlined pretty definitely and clearly , that something needs to be done , and something is certainly amiss . That is now a horse of a totally different colour and breed .We have suddenly moved into the realm of non acceptance and denial . Not a place you want to wander into by mistake . No that realm has its own rules , it has its own boundaries , and it most importantly has its own interpretation of the truth . Not to be relied upon in defending ones position when trying to find a solution to a particular problem .
                                                                   It can be so hard to admit faults in oneself . I mean we are not really made that way are we ? .W e are like it or lump it ,  defenders of our own understanding and outlook on life . We set our own rules , and a lot of the time we are ignorant of how our behaviour truly effects our other halves and our children . We cannot but say , this is me and I am not going to change for anyone . Not a good idea when you have to live with someone with maybe an opposing view . Or which is so much worse , someone who thinks exactly the way that you do . And also says , I am not going to change either . Suddenly that big old IMPASSE has entered the building . What do you do now ?
                                                                  If you are even the slightest bit wise , and not an utter eeejit and have any respect or thought for your future , you will have noticed yourself heading for this IMPASSE long before its impending arrival. I mean its not always necessary to continue headlong into that sort of confrontation . You can stop ! You can compromise ! You can look at things from someone else's perspective ! And maybe just maybe , that little bit of wisdom you have could ultimately save not just the day , but a whole lot more besides .
